Although I didn’t like the original Audi TT, the second generation won me over with its not-so-quirky styling and a beautiful interior. The TT is a good performing sports car but if you’re looking for an all-wheel drive sports car that’ll really put a smile on your face, the TT RS is the car for you. Now Audi has released details on a new version of the sporty little car called the TT RS Plus.
The 2013 Audi TT RS Plus is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine that produces 360 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels. The TT RS Plus reaches the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark in 4.1 seconds with the automatic transmission and 4.3 seconds with the manual and has an electronically controlled top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). The automatic transmission equipped cars also come with launch control so you can reach the next traffic light quicker than the guy in the next lane.
Visually there isn’t that much of a difference between the standard RS and the “Plus” model; the only difference is the matte-aluminum front grill, new 19” wheels with body color matching outer lip, and carbon fiber reinforced mirror caps.
